Question about Misdirection

Misdirection is a Hunter Secret that triggers when the Hunter's hero is attacked. It redirects the damage to another random target.

My question is what happens when you (the enemy hero) attacks the Hunter with your weapon and there are no minions out on the board at all?

Can you hit yourself? Does the Secret not trigger? Does the Secret trigger thus blocking the attack but fizzles beyond that?

The Secret will not trigger. The proper condition for Misdirection is to have another target available, and since that condition isn't met the Secret will not activate.
