Realm & Log In Issues 03/29/10

Greetings all,

We are aware of the realm and log in issues that are occurring across many realms. This situation is currently under investigation, but we hope to have a resolution in place for both issues soon (if they have not been implemented already).

If your character is 'stuck' or you are unable to log in, our staff may be able to help. While we're unable to resolve such issues via the forum, you can certainly submit an in-game petition from a different character on the same account, and a member of our staff will do their utmost to help as swiftly as possible!

When you submit such a petition, it's best to keep the following points in mind:

• Always use the ‘Character Stuck’ button when you submit this kind of petition.
• Include the word 'stuck' in your petition.
• Include the name and realm of the stuck character.
• Include where your character was before they got stuck
• Mention whether you are stuck at the loading screen, are unable to remain in-game, are trapped on terrain, are unable to find your body, or fell ‘through the world’

Such a petition presupposes that you are only 'stuck' with a single character Mooatyou.

Upon getting back in the game, I saw a ton of possibly hacked accounts in Orgrimmar near the AH, forming up for a hack website ad again... we haven't seen those in ages on my realm and to see it suddenly appear right after something like this has me wondering.

Is it possible that security of the game has been directly acted against?

Now, I'm not a paranoid person, I've gone years without any worries because I am quite careful with what I do online, it was only recently I got an authenticator... but I couldn't even log into the forums, much less log into my account on the website.

Whatever it is, I hope Blizzard can get a secure grip on this.

Hopefully I can provide some reassurance: This situation was not the result of some sort of breach. The realm log in issues and disconnects most recently experienced were the result of a technical issue which appears to have since been resolved.

Please do feel free to report those advertisers though, and our staff will be more than happy to deal with the situation appropriately.

When you submit such a petition, it is helpful to include the terms 'advertisement' 'body' and 'spam'.

I fervently share that wish. Unfortunately, they are an extremely persistent lot, and we need to remain eternally vigilant and creative to limit and eliminate the influence they exert within World of Warcraft.

Anyway.

I actually got ON my account. I just couldn't connect to the game.

All my characters, on Stormreaver and Scarlet Crusade are locked. I log in, then get disconnected.

I think Im going to just wait, and bake cookies in the meantime.

Who wants some?

I'm sorry to hear that this situation seems to be persisting for you.

Do you actually make it all the way into World of Warcraft prior to being disconnected? Also, are every one of your characters on both realms affected?

Also, cookies in mah moufs, plz.

All of my characters are effected. I tried rebooting, checking my internet connection, scanning my computer. Nothing. I've had this problem for 3 days or more now. My game was freezing up at trying to log in to the servers. I had to close WoW, re open it, and then I got back in.

I have no idea what to do at this point, but at the same time it really hasn't worried me much. I have things to do in real life all week. I'll be busy. I just want the issue to stop.

Also the blue bar goes all the way full on the loading screen, and then it boots me and says, "You have been disconnected from the server."

Ah, it sounds like this is related to a rather larger, and ongoing issue that is affecting some players. I'm sorry to hear that you're one of those players =(. Essentially, you've already discovered the best workaround available until we are able to resolve the matter.

Log in, and allow the loading bar to fill, wait a minute or two, then relog and you should be able to log in, (most of the time). The main thread for this issue is here, and when further updates become available, we'll endeavor to provide them as soon as possible:
