Blizzard Post
We have recently seen an increase in the number of “spoof” emails players are receiving that are attempting to steal account information. These types of emails may often appear authentic and usually request your login name, security question/answer, AND password. Please keep in mind that official Blizzard emails will always come from a blizzard.com email address and will never ask for your password.

For more security tips and ways to identify these emails, please visit our World of Warcraft Account Security page (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20572&rhtml=true?rhtml=y).

If you are seeking an additional layer of security, consider purchasing the optional Blizzard Authenticator when available at the online Blizzard Store (http://www.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=1100000182).

Here is an example of a scam email that we ourselves have received:

An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that the account in question is being sold or traded.
As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with Blizzard's EULA, which can be found here:
World of Warcraft Europe -> End User Licence Agreement

The investigation will be continued by Blizzard administration to determine the action to be taken against your account.
If your account is found violating the EULA and Terms of Use, your account can, and will be suspended/closed/or terminated.

In order to keep this from occurring, you should immediately verify that you are the original owner of the account.

To verify your identity please visit the following webpage:
<World of Warcraft Europe>

Note: If you have trouble viewing any part of the link above try using a diffrent browser.
We recommend using Mozilla Firefox which can be found here:

Only Account Administration will be able to assist with account retrieval issues.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your continued interest in World of Warcraft.
