Well as the tile says, what do you think does "exceptional" really mean. When top guilds are looking for players, they always say "exceptional players also have high chances even if your class is not what we have on the recruitment list" or similar messages.

Does "exceptional" just mean that you are an outstanding, skilled player of your class/role? Someone with a great attitude, decent gear, and general understanding of the game?
Or is it more like having alot of hardmode experience, be geared with BiS items, have a acceptable attitude, etc.

I'm asking because i see many hardcore guilds asking for hardmode experience, and now im wondering if that's really all that matters.

This is actually a very good question that is brought up by the OP, which can lead to an interesting discussion, hence the blue-tag :-)

It is true that many successful guilds use the word “exceptional players” when they are looking for new recruits, but it is not always clear what is required in order to be considered an "exceptional player". The reason for this is most likely that the term "exceptional player" is in the eye of the beholder, meaning that everybody has a different opinion on what it takes for a player to be called exceptional.

Let's see if we can get more answers to this; what do you think it entails to be an exceptional player?
