Blizzard Review - Mark of the Wild

Mark of the Wild is a popular buff in raids, and for a long time has been one of the best single buffs in the game. With the BC expansion however, I do not feel that this buff has scaled up to level 70 along with other abilities.

In short, while items and some abilities have scaled up 50% or more, the MoW buff has improved only about 20%, reducing its utility overall in the game and also making the Improved Mark of the Wild talent much less valuable.

Here's a few numbers to fuel the discussion:

At level 60 you can have Rank 7 Mark of the Wild:
Armor +285 All Stats +12 All Resistances +20

At level 70 you can hyave Rank 8 MoW:
Armor +340 All Stats +14 All Resistances +25

The 5-point Improved Mark of the Wild increases the effects of MotW by 35% (at level 70, that is an additional +119 armor, +4.9 more stats, and +8.75 more resistances).

As a ballpark figure, MoW scaled up about 20% from level 60 to 70. By comparison, armor items have improved 50% or more.

I get that idea by comparing a base-line epic item for level 60 (Cenarion Tier 1 set) with a base-line epic item for level 70 (Malorne set).

Cenarion Gloves -- http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16831
>> 143 armor, +18 heal, 0 mp5
Handguards of Malorne -- http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29090
>> 237 armor, +62 heal, 7 mp5

Cenarion Helm -- http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16834
>> 186 armor, +12 dmg/heal, 0 mp5
Crown of Malorne -- http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29086
>> 308 armor, +68 heal, +10 mp5, and still 2 sockets to fill.

Compare the Dungeon 1 set (Wildheart) with the Dungeon 3 set (Moonglade) for another example, there are lots.

So ... I'm asking Blizzard to review this buff and the associated talent points, and give it a bit of a boost to bring it up to level 70 along with items and abilities.

Please add your comments and (if you agree) your support. Thanks!

Edit: oops, Dungeon set 3 is called Moonglade not Wildheart :P

The same argument can be made about Blessing of Might, Trueshot Aura, Power Word: Fortitude, etc. They are intended to provide flat bonuses of particular stats.
