Can't login to wow because of wrong region!!!

So i had to reinstall wow on my desktop and after the installer kept failing and freezing non stop i had to download http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/WoW/other/wowalternate_engb.zip which the forums said to do , so that i could actually get the installer to stop freezing. and now the game won't log onto me or my gf's account it says wrong region. I can't reinstall using the regular installer cause it freezes non stop and this file is apparently some other version of wow. so what do i do now? ps you owe me game time on both accounts blizzard.

It seems as though you patched the game with the European version of the patches instead of the US version hence the "wrong region" error message you are receiving. Let's try reverting the game version back to its original form per the instructions below and just logging into the game to let the Blizzard Downloader do its thing automatically.

1. Open your World of Warcraft directory located at C:\Program files\World of Warcraft or C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft for Vista users
2. Open the folder called "Data"
3. Delete Patch.MPQ, Patch-2.MPQ, Patch-3.MPQ and any other file with the word "Patch" in it that ends with "MPQ"
4. Run the repair.exe utility found in the World of Warcraft directory
5. Click the button "Reset and Check Files"
6. The repair utility will say, "World of Warcraft is seriously damaged and will need to be reverted to an earlier version. After it has been reverted you may need to patch up to continue playing."
7. Once the repair utility has completed, you will need to reapply the patch to enter the game.

If you did wish to manually install the patch data if your installation does freeze up, feel free to venture to our patch mirror site below and choose the US version for each patch download.
