6.1 Hotfixes: March 12

Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to the recently released World of Warcraft Patch 6.1. Hotfixes are updates made on our end without requiring a new client-side patch. Some of the hotfixes below take effect the moment they were implemented, while others may require the realm to be restarted to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. This list will be updated as additional hotfixes are applied.

Hotfixes have been listed by the date they've been implemented. Also available, hotfixes compiled by category for those wanting a quick summary of all hotfixes that have been applied since the start of World of Warcraft Patch 6.1.

Tags may be added to some hotfixes to denote a special condition.

  • [Requires a realm restart] means the hotfix will not take effect until after a scheduled rolling restart or maintenance.
  • [Hotfix in testing] means the hotfix is in early stages of testing and may not be implemented just yet. However, the change is important and is posted to provide as much advanced notice as possible.

      • Shred now deals 20% more damage while stealthed (down from 35%).

      • Tranquilizing Shot now costs 50 Focus (up from 20 Focus).
    • Hunter Pets
      • Cornered now causes the pet to deal 20% more damage (down from 50%).
    • Talents
      • Fixed an issue where Exotic Munitions' Incendiary Ammo and Frozen Ammo were causing the Hunter's swing timer to reset incorrectly.

Raids and Dungeons

    • Blackhand
      • Siegemaker's Battering Ram ability is no longer considered to be an area-of-effect attack on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty.
  • Legacy
    • Icecrown Citadel: Defeating Professor Putricide too quickly should no longer cause players to become trapped in the room.

PvP

  • Players now deal 10% less damage against other players while in PvP combat.

      • Light of Dawn should now correctly benefit from Critical Strike, Multistrike, and Haste.

    • General
      • Iron Taskmaster's Held to Task ability no longer plays the level up sound effect when used.
    • Kromog
      • Kromog's Stone Breath and Rune of the Grasping Hand now deal less damage on Raid Finder difficulty.
  • The Everbloom: Addled Arcanomancer, Putrid Pyromancer, and Infested Icecaller should no longer incorrectly strike multiple targets.
  • Legacy
    • Throne of Thunder: Ra-Den's Murderous Strike should now be slightly less murderous, periodic damage dealt should no longer incorrectly scale up as the player was healed.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the disenchant window that that may cause a player to be disconnected from the game.

  • Demonology Warlock Metamorphosis should now correctly have priority over cosmetic transformation effects.

    • Dark Heart of Pandaria (Scenario): Creatures in the scenario should no longer incorrectly scale to level 100.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Character Boosting a Protection Paladin was not granting Cold Weather Flying.

      • Dash should no longer continue to provide an increase to movement speed if the Druid shapeshifts out of Cat Form.

      • Mastery: Ignite modified by Glyph of Ignite should now correctly apply its snare effect when Ignite is spread by Inferno Blast.
  • Monk
    • Talents
      • Charging Ox Wave should now be correctly categorized as a Stun effect for diminishing returns.
  • Paladin
    • General
      • Fixed an issue where Glyph of Flash of Light's effect could be incorrectly consumed by other Paladin's casting Flash of Light on the target.
    • Talents
      • Saved by the Light (Holy) should now be able to trigger its effect without requiring line-of-sight with the casting Paladin.
  • Rogue

      • Fixed an issue where macros intended to work while Shadow Dance (Subtlety) was active would stop working when the effects of Subterfuge (Talent) ended.
      • [Requires a realm restart] Fixed an issue where Rogues were incorrectly being affected by crowd control abilities while in the middle of Death from Above (Talent).
  • Shaman
    • Elemental
      • Ascendance for Elemental Shaman should now correctly have its cooldown reset at the end of a raid encounter.

Garrisons, Followers, and Outposts

  • Garrison Missions
    • Level 95-99 Garrison Missions should now repopulate more quickly.
    • Level 90-99 Treasure Hunter Missions (Inn, Level 3) now award less gold. Gold awarded from Level 100 Treasure Hunter Missions remains unchanged.
    • Level 95 Mission: Shreddercide, Level 97 Mission: Curiosity Killed Them, and Level 99 Mission: Raider Danger now awards Bonus Follower XP instead of Garrison Resources.
    • Completing Patrol Missions should now correctly contribute credit towards completing the "Patrolling Draenor" achievement.

Quests

  • Legendary Ring Quest Line
    • An Inside Job: Resolved an issue that prevented a cinematic from playing upon completion of the quest.
  • Frostfire Ridge
    • The Iron Wolf: Players that have upgraded to a Tier 3 Garrison without completing Thunderlord Invasion! are now able to obtain this quest.

Environment and World Events

  • [Requires a realm restart] Players that have already obtained Voidtalon of the Dark Star are no longer able to interact with or enter Edge of Reality Portals.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

  • Queueing for an Arena Skirmish now allows everyone in the party (instead of only the party leader) to select roles other than Damage Dealing.

March 4

Darkmoon Faire

  • Tonk Challenge
    • Players are no longer able to destroy other players' Tonk Targets.
    • Increased the number of Tonk Targets spawned at the start of a Tonk Challenge session to 9 (up from 7). This should make the Ace Tonk Commander achievement more obtainable.

      • Fixed an issue where Ferocious Bite may sometimes consume an incorrect amount of Energy when the ability misses.

      • Archangel should no longer incorrectly increase Flash Heal's mana cost.

      • Fixed an issue where Lava Lash was not spreading Flame Shock to some targets.

Raids and Dungeons

    • The Blast Furnace
      • Phase 1: Security Guard's Defense ability now reduces damage taken by most allies by 90% (down from 99%).
  • Grimrail Depot
    • Skylord Tovra: Fixed an issue where Rakun may not placing pools of Diffused Energy correctly while flying overhead.
  • Legacy
    • Icecrown Citadel: Players should now be able to change between Normal and Heroic difficulty after defeating Valithria Dreamwalker.

Pet Battle

  • Battle Pet Abilities
    • Sandstorm should now correctly reduce damage dealt to all pets.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a graphical issue that could occur by using Reflecting Prism on a character that's transformed and riding a mount.
  • Fixed an error in calculating the shortest flight path from Ironforge to the Isle of Quel'Danas.

March 3

Darkmoon Faire

  • All of Darkmoon Island is now a Sanctuary zone. Note that some areas may still be incorrectly displaying as Contested areas on PvP realms. This display issue will be fixed in a future patch.
  • Players are now unable to start other Darkmoon Faire games if they're already on a racing quest.

Cosmetic Transformations and Toy Effects

  • Druid Incarnation, Shaman Ascendance and Ghost Wolf transformations should now correctly have priority over cosmetic transformation effects.
  • Glyph of the Treant's Treant Form now has the same transformation priority as other Druid combat forms.
  • Fixed an issue with the following cosmetic transformations that had an incorrect priority:
    • Celestial Defender's Medallion
    • Gamon's Braid
    • Manastorm's Duplicator
    • Mr. Smite's Brass Compass

    • Fixed an issue that could cause periodic effects that are not affected by Haste and had its duration extended to expire early.

      • Arcane Power's cooldown now resets at the end of a raid encounter.

      • Fixed a bug with Execution Sentence and Stay of Execution that could cause them to deal their damage or healing ticks in the wrong order.

      • Vampiric Embrace should no longer incorrectly factor in damage caused by Searing Insanity.

    • Barn: Players trapping a creature should now drop out of combat as soon as the trap is triggered.
    • Mine, Level 2 (Horde): Fixed a mining node that can spawn in the air.
    • Stables: Players riding a Mount-In-Training are now dismounted when attacked by another player.

    • [Hellfire Peninsula] Mission: The Abyssal Shelf (Horde version): Wing Commander Brack should now correctly send players off on a bombing run.
    • [Mists of Pandaria] What's in the Box?: Defeating the Concentrated Sha too quickly should no longer cause them to stop spawning.

Raids and Dungeons

    • Blackhand
      • Fixed an issue that could cause players to take more fall damage than intended during the transition to stage two.

PvP

  • To make diminishing returns for crowd control effects more consistent and predictable, diminishing returns now have a reset window of 18 seconds. For a detailed explanation of this change, please visit the forum thread titled: Recent CC Diminishing Returns Changes.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

  • Flask of Conquest's effects should now correctly persist through death and be usable while in Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to stand up while eating or drinking during the preparation phase before the start of an Arena or Rated Battleground match.

Collections

  • Toy Box
    • Fixed an issue where using S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera while under the effects of Photo B.O.M.B. would incorrectly provide access to S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII filters.

Items

  • Loot-A-Rang and Findle's Loot-A-Rang can now be used without dropping out of non-flight based shapeshift forms.
  • Snake Firework now has a 15-second cooldown.
  • Stone of Fire is now bind on equip and no longer requires Alchemy to equip.
  • Fixed an internal bag error that could occur while attempting to loot rare lunker fish.

      • Focusing Shot now has a facing requirement.

      • Fixed an issue where Chi Explosion could incorrectly trigger Healing Elixirs while the Monk is at full health.

    • Talents
      • Saving Grace (Discipline, Holy) now heals for 34% less in PvP combat (up from 25% less).
  • Shaman

      • Fixed an issue where Lava Surge can interact with the talent, Echo of the Elements incorrectly to provide an additional charge of Lava Surge.
    • Restoration
      • Chain Heal should now be correctly healing the most injured ally first.
  • Warlock
    • Talents
      • Soul Link's healing now ignores effects that increase or decrease the amount of healing received.
  • Warrior

      • Execute now deals 13% more damage for Fury and Protection Warriors, effectively restoring the ability's damage level back to pre-Patch 6.1.
      • Fixed a number of issues with Execute’s rage consumption and damage for Arms Warriors.

    • Visiting Garrison profession traders are now on a rotation and is no longer random.
    • Summoned Garrison bosses should no longer reset or despawn after being summoned if they're engaged by pets or Garrison NPCs.
    • Visiting High Overlord Saurfang no longer offers to accompany Horde players on patrol over concerns that he may cleave the Garrison in half.
  • Garrison Quests
    • Targets of bounty quests are now open tap.
    • Learning is Painful: Huge Crate of Weapons should now be interactable and allow players to complete the quest.
  • Follower Missions
    • Relic and Bounty missions are no longer being offered.

Creatures and NPCs

  • Fixed collision geometry designed to prevent crowding around the Horde PvP vendors in Warspear.

Raids and Dungeons

  • Legacy
    • Drak'Tharon Keep: Fixed an issue where Novos the Summoner was unkillable on Heroic difficulty.
    • The Culling of Stratholme: Fixed an issue where the Dark Runed Chest after defeating Mal'Ganis could not be looted on Heroic difficulty.

Items

  • Formidable Ring should no longer create invalid items.
  • Shadowtome can no longer be incorrectly upgraded by Weapon Crystal Ensorcelled Tarott (Corrected).
  • The Shatterer no longer has a chance on hit effect.

Bug Fixes

  • Trade Goods and Consumables should now be correctly deposited to bags assigned to favor those item types.

    • Dwarven Bunker / War Mill: Increased the chance for obtaining Follower armor and weaponry sets from work orders.
    • Mage Tower / Spirit Lodge, Level 1: It should now support up to 7 work orders (was incorrectly only able to support 1 work order).

    • Being in a Premade Group should no longer prevent players from entering Ashran.
    • Fixed an issue where players in the same raid or party but in different instances of Ashran would still see each other's markers on the map.

    • [Requires a realm restart] Low-level items should no longer have an excessive amount of Bonus Armor.
    • War Games now should have a 25-second resurrection timer.
    • Temple of Kotmogu: Paladins can no longer use Divine Shield or Hand of Protection on players holding an orb in Temple of Kotmogu.
    • Temple of Kotmogu: Hunters can no longer use Camouflage to drop an orb in Temple of Kotmogu.

Collections

  • Heirlooms
    • [Requires a realm restart] Musty Tome of the Lost should now correctly accept Heirloom armor upgrade tokens (was incorrectly using weapon upgrade tokens instead).
  • Battle Pets
    • Battle Pet healing abilities should now heal for an amount much closer to the values stated in the tooltip.
  • Toy Box
    • S.E.L.F.I.E. Cameras can now be used while under a stealth effect.
  • Mounts
    • Chauffeured Chopper can no longer be driven by party members that are visiting another player's Garrison.

Items

  • Increased the amount of Stamina granted from Draenor food.
    • Tier 1 Stamina food now gives a bonus of 112 Stamina (up from 75).
    • Tier 2 Stamina food received no change and remains at 150 Stamina.
    • Tier 3 Stamina food now gives a bonus of 187 Stamina (up from 125).
  • The following glyphs are no longer bind on pickup.
    • Glyph of the Solstice (Druid)
    • Glyph of Flying Fists (Monk)

  • Primal Combatant's Medallion of Adaptation should now correctly count towards the PvP trinket set bonus, Gladiator's Distinction.

Bug Fixes

  • General
    • Fixed an issue where Touch of the Naaru's visuals was not correctly attached to character models.
    • Primal Combatant's Medallion of Adaptation should now convert into the correct faction version for characters that had undergone a Paid Faction Transfer.
  • Achievements
    • Don't Call Me Junior: Exploration Mission Master is no longer a requirement for completing the achievement.
    • [Requires a realm restart] Securing Draenor: Removed Challenge at the Ring of Blood as one of the requirements for completing the achievement.
    • What a Strange, Interdimensional Trip It's Been: Credit should now be correctly awarded for defeating Rukhmar with Pepe atop your head.

February 25

Classes

  • Tanking Specializations no longer generate threat from heals.
  • Fixed an issue where threat dropping abilities were sometimes incorrectly removing crowd-control effects.
  • Fixed an issue where images summoned by Spectral Guise (Priest Talent) or Mirror Image (Mage) would incorrectly retain threat when resummoned.
  • Druid
    • General
      • Shifting in-and-out of Cat Form should now correctly reapply Cat Form's speed bonus while Dash or Stampeding Roar is active.
      • Fixed an issue where various item effects that provides a buff based on the player's highest stat sometimes picked the wrong stat for Balance and Restoration Druids that were shapeshifted into Bear Form or Cat Form.
      • Fixed an issue where Ferocious Bite may consume more Energy than intended when the ability Multistrikes.
    • Talents
      • Bloodtalons (Feral) should no longer incorrectly consume a charge if the attack misses, is dodged, or parried.
  • Mage
    • Talents
      • Prismatic Crystal should no longer be incorrectly affected by friendly auras that reduces damage taken.
  • Monk
    • General
      • Tiger Strikes should no longer incorrectly activate on unsuccessful autoattacks, but will be able to activate from successful Multistrikes. Fixing this will result in an overall damage gain for all Monks, so there are a couple of additional adjustments (see below). Additionally, Tiger Strikes should now correctly provide the full 10% chance to trigger for Mistweavers in Crane Stance while equipping one-handed items in conjunction with off-hand items.         • Keg Smash (Brewmaster) now deals 20% less damage.
        • Rising Sun Kick (Windwalker, Mistweaver) now causes enemies to take 20% increased damage from the Monk's abilities (up from 10%).
        • The tooltip for Tiger Strikes is incorrectly stating that the chance for it to activate is 6.25% while dual-wielding. The actual chance is 5% (and has been since Warlords of Draenor released). The tooltip will be corrected in a future patch.
    • Talents
      • Fixed an issue with Chi Torpedo that caused it to deal no damage unless the Glyph of Water Roll was applied.
  • Paladin
    • Glyphs
      • Glyph of Holy Shock now decreases the healing of Holy Shock by 25% and increases its damage by 25% (down from a 50% decrease to healing and 50% increase to damage).
  • Priest
    • Talents
      • Saving Grace (Discipline, Holy) should now correctly reduce absorbs done (was incorrectly reducing absorption taken).
    • Armor Sets
      • PvP 2-piece set bonus effect for Shadow Priests is now removed at the beginning of a boss encounter. The set bonus will still work during the encounter.
  • Rogue
    • Armor Sets
      • PvP 4-piece set bonus for Combat Rogues should now provide the correct set bonus for Cold Blood. Note that the tooltip will incorrectly display text for the old set bonus and will be fixed in a future client-side patch.
    • Bug Fixes
      • Fixed an issue that could allow the effects of Master of Subtlety to persist longer than intended.
      • Attacking targets immediately after Vanish transitions to Stealth should now correctly remove Stealth and trigger Subterfuge.
  • Shaman
    • Enhancement
      • Fire Nova should now work correctly with Flurry. Additionally, Fire Nova should have its global cooldown reduced by haste.
    • Armor Sets
      • PvP 2-piece set bonus for Elemental Shaman should now correctly provide immunity to silence and interrupt effects while Ascendance is active.

Garrisons, Followers, and Outposts

  • Garrison Campaign Quests
    • Bringing the Bass: Lumbering Ancient can now be tapped by multiple players. Loot from the creature has been temporarily removed.
    • New Goods (Alliance version): Fixed an issue where Lieutenant Thorn was not offering this quest to eligible players.
  • Garrison Buildings
    • Mine, Level 2 (Horde): Fixed an issue where some of the ore nodes were spawning in the air.

Quests

  • Frostfire Ridge
    • The Battle of Thunder Pass: Fixed an issue where players dying during the battle may sometimes be unable to complete the quest.
  • Nagrand
    • Shields Down!: Players should now receive credit for interacting with the Arkonite Crystal and be able to complete the quest.

Raids and Dungeons

  • Blackrock Foundry
    • General
      • Ogron Hauler no longer hits targets while casting Overhead Smash and Overhead Smash now increase Physical damage taken by 100% (down from a 200% increase) on Raid Finder difficulty.
      • Slagshop Brute now pauses for 2-seconds after using Lumbering Strength.
    • The Blast Furnace
      • Phase 1
        • Adds in the encounter should now be more immediately responsive to threat generation upon jumping into the encounter space.
        • Furnace Engineer's Repair ability now heals Heat Regulators' health every 1.5 seconds (up from every 1 second). Additionally, Furnace Engineers should no longer instantly cast Repair if they're in the middle of casting Electrocution or Bomb.
      • Phase 2
        • Firecaller's Volatile Fire now hits up to a maximum of 2 targets on Raid Finder difficulty, and 3 targets on Normal and Heroic difficulty.
        • Slag Elemental's nameplates now go away when they are Dormant.
        • Multiple Slag Elementals should no longer Fixate on the same player.
    • Flamebender Ka'graz
      • The fight should now reset when a Cinder Wolf is moved outside the encounter area.
      • Flamebender Ka'graz's Charring Breath and Lava Slash should now be correctly removed after an encounter reset.
    • Kromog
      • Players under the effects of Rune of the Grasping Hand should no longer take damage or stunned by Rune of Crushing Earth.
    • Beastlord Darmac
      • Beastlord Darmac's Pin Down ability should now deal damage in a radius of 25 yards around the spear impacts rather than around Darmac. Additionally, visuals for the attack should no longer be sometimes hidden by the floor.
      • Visuals for Spirit of the Rylak's Superheated Shrapnel and Dreadwing's Inferno Breath should now more accurately display the abilities' area of effect.
    • Operator Thogar
      • Fixed an issue where the door leading to Operator Thogar may fail to open if the raid wipes shortly after starting the encounter.
    • Blackhand
      • Blackhand should now correctly create a Slag Crater beneath the target of his Massive Shattering Smash.

        • Keg Smash (Brewmaster) now deals 20% less damage.

        • The tooltip for Tiger Strikes is incorrectly stating that the chance for it to activate is 6.25% while dual-wielding. The actual chance is 5% (and has been since Warlords of Draenor released). The tooltip will be corrected in a future patch.

    • Primal Combatant's Medallion of Adaptation should now convert into the correct faction version for characters that had undergone a Paid Faction Transfer.
    • Resolved an issue where players that attempt to teleport back from a dungeon after having recently upgraded their Garrisons may receive an "Instance not found" error.

  • Achievements
    • Players should now correctly receive credit towards the Call to Arms! achievement after completing a max level Battleground match.
    • Don't Call Me Junior: Exploration Mission Master is no longer a requirement for completing the achievement.
    • Securing Draenor: Removed Challenge at the Ring of Blood as one of the requirements for completing the achievement.
    • What a Strange, Interdimensional Trip It's Been: Credit should now be correctly awarded for defeating Rukhmar with Pepe atop your head.
