Beta Realm Maintenance - July 24/25th

Update: 10pm PDT

Unfortunately due to the power outage that occurred our staff was forced to leave the office. As such, we won't be able to finish the push tonight and bring the realms up.

Greetings All!

The Beta realms will be coming down for maintenance later today in order to deploy a new build. I'll be updating this thread with information and time estimates as I receive them. I don't have an ETA at this time, but I will update this post if I receive one.

I'll be leaving this thread open for general discussion as long as people remain civil and follow forum rules.

BTW, realms aren't going down just quite yet, but I wanted to give you all as much early notice as I could.

Hello friendly turnip!

Do you know off-hand if this build is going to fix any character model bugs? My shoulders are trying to crush my skull, and my hairstyle keeps changing in mid-flight. Just curious!

Each build has a significant number of fixes in it, so it's hard to really call them out individually. Some of the major Female Draenei issues from last build are fixed (helms + shoulders + weapons not rendering).

We pushed some server-side fixes last night to help resolve a lot of stuck characters, so give it a shot in this build when it comes back up.

There's no single fix for Stability issues, it's definitely more of an ongoing job for our server team.

Level Cap will be 100 on all realms.

I was going to make you guys try to guess what the build number is, but that just seems mean. Build is 18594.

Level 100 PvP is the full name. It'll still just be the same level 100 PvP Templates we had before. Draenor will remain closed aside from Ashran.

Ah yeah, that's going to be a separate server when it comes up. May not be coming up with the others, still TBD.

I got a betakey this afternoon... Servers are down.. Just my luck lol.. They coming back tonight or tomorrow?

The character wipe can take a while to process so I can't give an ETA, but ideally today/tonight.

Been two months now, waiting to play the only character I care to through leveling content!

Still something we're working on, I do apologize for the delay. We're trying to get those working and EU character copies, both are still very much on our radar.

K Zorb, whatever you do, don't even think about fire, wind, rain (unless it's a gentle shower), hail, frogs, locusts, or adventurous gnomes.

Instead maybe think about a certain beta tester hitting the lottery maybe?

In beta-related news, we're completing the last of our checks as I type this, so I'm hopeful you'll be able to play beta within the next hour.

Won't go live when the other realms come up, but it may come up later.

When realms come up shortly, you'll have a choice of:

Beta Leveling Realm 01 (Previously Lost Isles)

Beta Leveling Realm 02 (Previously Gilneas)

Level 100 PvP (Previously Mekkatorque)

Beta Leveling Realm 01 is a PvE realm, while the other two are PvP realms. The Level 100 PvP Realm won't have any Draenor Zones active, aside from Ashran. The two Leveling Realms have all Draenor zones except for Ashran.

Looks like my estimate of ~60 minutes was a bit premature, our IT folks and Database Administrators are rather busy this morning due to yesterday's power outage. Tools and servers need to be brought up in a certain order in order to launch Beta, and that process is ongoing.

I'll try to provide hourly updates throughout the day, but due to the nature of current circumstances I don't have an ETA.

Well i see all these posts about severs up... but when i get to the screen to pick the server all three are there but say Incompatible underneath the population tab. Clicking one and accepting just takes me back to log in. Anyone else see this?

If you're seeing a message like that, it's because you haven't updated to the latest build. Try closing your Battle.net app and re-launching it.
