How to turn off the beep for friend sign on

So is there anyway to shut off that annoying beep whenever friends sign on?

It is so annoying when you have a friend that switches toons back and forth all the time....it can really drive you crazy.

I have read some posts that say to go to Interface>Battle.net> and turn off Broadcast Updates, but that does nothing to the sound of the beep.

Can someone please help me? :(

There is a sound when a friend logs in and out, though I won't know if I'd call it a beep. Like a "shunt" sound with a "ting". Does that sound about right, Trippi?

Is that happening for just friends or RealID/BattleTag friends?

I'm not aware of any way to return that off within the default UI for just friends. But I thought the option in the interface could turn off the Battle.net/BattleTag notifications.

You may want to check the Macro & UI forum to see if there is an addon or other option to do that.
