Do you identify with your toon or compensate

When you chose a race you're doing it cause it looks like you a little or just the opposite, you want to play something looking completely different?

I compensate cause I always wanted to look that beautiful and fragile like a fem blood elf and when I play a fem goblin cause me being kind of shy IRL I admire their great attitude and self confidence.

My choice didn't have so much to do with looks so much as a long standing RP/PvP history I had with the type of character. I could identify with her on that level and she's not nearly as nice as I am. I can let my darker side come out a bit. ;) It's a nice release.
