I've seen people advertising this ingame selling for ingame gold (eg. Selling celestial steed 22k gold w.e) Just wondering is this even legal in the eyes of blizzard to do? and also how do you do it? i thought you had to enter the email address of the person to gift it to, so the person has to trade you the gold then you send it or something?

Greetings Mastèma,

As the others in this thread have said, it’s unfortunately both against our game Terms of Use and illegal to sell any Online Store codes for in-game gold, whether these were legitimately purchased or not.

The important distinction point here is, as has also already been mentioned, the ‘code’ part – the Guardian Cub doesn’t fall under the same category as, when players sell this in-game, they are selling an in-game item that no longer has a direct monetary value.

However, with an item like the Celestial Steed, it’s necessary to sell the code (not the item) in order for the other person to be able to receive it… and these codes still have a directly assigned monetary value, thereby breaking the Terms of Use and the Real vs. Virtual Transaction policy.

I’ll provide a few additional links below for interest, but I do hope this helps to clarify and also explain our stance regarding such items. :)
