How can alliance come in our city kill the conquest gear vendor, while we can't do the same to theirs?

Sergeant Thunderhorn...well, how can I say this? He's not exactly the brightest bull in the barn, and hasn't really ever fully understood how PvP flagging works. We're working with him, though, and are confident that he'll get a hang of the mechanics soon.

(In other words, we noticed the discrepancy, too, and are ensuring that both vendors are immune to opposite-faction attacks in an upcoming patch.)

wait a minute, no one asked you to make them immune just beef them up a lot make them like lvl 85 elites or something

There's arguments to be made on both sides, whether to make all of the Conquest quartermasters immune, or unattackable, or to just buff their health and give them some meaty offensive/defensive abilities.

In this case, since some of the Conquest quartermasters were already immune (as were a number of other similar vendors), it seemed better to stay consistent and make Sergeant Thunderhorn and the rest of his ilk immune, too. Not to mention, many of the Conquest quartermasters are in locations that were, at one point in time, instanced and thus unavailable to players of the opposite faction.

So, while these NPCs offer PvP rewards and, as a result, make for fun PvP targets, this decision was more about creating parity.
