PvP Season 9 Information

Hello everyone and welcome to our first Cataclysm PvP season!

Here are the major changes you should keep in mind compared to previous arena seasons:

• You will now be able to gain Conquest Points and access the higher PvP tiers by participating in Rated Battlegrounds in addition to Arenas.


• The creation of Arena Teams is now done via the PvP UI.

Creating an Arena Team
With patch 4.0.1 a new way to create Arena Teams was introduced. The Arena Organizers have been removed and you no longer need to purchase a charter.

Instead, you can now simply open the Honor panel of your character, select the Arena Teams tab, and from there you can create teams by simply clicking on a blank flag. This will pop up a new window asking you to type in the name of your arena team and customize the flag.

Once the team is created and selected, new members can be invited via the Add Member option.

Rewards Changes

Arena Season 9 (aka Cataclysm Season 1) has three main PvP sets:

• Bloodthirsty Gladiator (item level 352): this set is purchased with Honor points and is of Rare quality (blue). No minimal rating is required to purchase any of the armor pieces of this set. There are no weapons are available for this set.


• Vicious Gladiator (item level 365): this set is purchased with Conquest points and is of Epic quality (purple). "Vicious" PvP weapons (item level 359) are also available. No minimal rating is required to purchase any of the armor pieces or weapons of this set.


• Vicious Gladiator ("improved visuals"): this set is a visual upgrade to the above Vicious, while bearing the same name and stats. Characters meeting the rating requirement to purchase the pieces of this set will be able to do so by simply exchanging their old piece for a new, improved looking one.
• The exception to this are the upgrade of the Vicious Weapons. These will be also a stat upgrade from their regular counterparts (item level 372, 13 item levels higher).
  
• Please note, any gems and enchants will be lost when upgrading the item, and our Customer Support team will not be able to assist in any way.


• There is no Vicious Gladiator's Tabard.


• Many of the rewards can be dropped by Argaloth in Baradin Hold.

Reward Costs & Requirements

All PvP vendors can be found in the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar and in the Champion’s Hall in Stormwind.

Item level 352, purchased from Honor Quartermasters
(Honor points, no rating requirements)
No "Bloodthirsty" weapons are available.

Item level 365, purchase from Glorious Conquest Quartermasters
To purchase these you hand in your old Vicious Gladiator set piece
Requires 2200 rating (Rated Battlegrounds, 3v3 or 5v5) to be purchased
No belts, bracers, rings, trinkets, cloaks or necklaces.

Vicious Gladiator Weapons (Improved Visuals)

Item level 372, purchased from Glorious Conquest Quartermasters
To purchase these you hand in your old Vicious Gladiator weapon and pay the extra conquest points.
Requires 2200 rating (Rated Battlegrounds, 3v3 or 5v5) to be purchased

• 1-Handed Weapons: 2450 + item level 359 identical weapon
• 2-Handed Weapons: 3400 + item level 359 identical weapon
• Offhands & Shields: 950 + item level 359 identical weapon
• Throwing Weapons & Wands: 700 + item level 359 identical weapon
• Ranged Weapons: 3400 + item level 359 identical weapon
