Why?

I dont know anything about a MAC, used PC for years.

He says a MAC is way better for WoW than a PC, but I hear Macs are expensive, is it worth it?

While OS X has a BSD/POSIX-compatible user space, the kernel is Darwin/Mach/XNU, a different beast from FreeBSD, though there is plainly some common heritage from the old days.
