Nothing that stands out as obvious to me, but it depends on when this may have occurred. One of the things I love about our support is our ability to help folks recover when the account is compromised. We can often repair 100% of the damage caused by a compromise. However, our ability to do that is extremely time sensitive. If it has been a few months, we may not have the information available any longer to do that.

To me, the account doesn't have the signs of a traditional compromise, or even one used just to advertise. But only the OP really knows what they had on the account. So if anything is missing, they'd be able let our Support staff know to help in any investigation. A lengthy silence seems suspect, but it depends on the activity on the account at the time. That's why I'd encourage appealing the penalty.
