When you report someone...

Does Blizzard actually do anything?
For example.. I was trying to learn how to heal on druid in a BG, OK I wasn't doing the best job, but I was really truly trying.
I had been playing a resto druid for a whooping 30 minutes.. and someone got like super mad nerd raging at me and started calling me some pretty vile names.

I can handle it, no big deal, really, I have been a dedicated BG healer for years, I have heard it all lol... but it made me wonder something...

When you report someone for language, which I did, what actually happens after that?
Do we just report someone and feel better think they MIGHT have to answer for it, or do they just get the reports, shrug, and move on?
I've never actually known anyone who got banned for language, or well, anything really.
So what does happen after someone gets reported?

penalty volcano
Geez that's a sign someone has been around for quite a while and seen those old support pages. We actually don't use the old volcano anymore! We've updated and changed those rules/systems quite a bit since that (along with all of our websites a few times).

Crepe's post here has some great insight to how the penalty and silence systems work.
