Recent realm issues

Sorry for the delayed post, I just walked in the door but five minutes ago, to see what players on Vengeance, Shadowburn, Nightfall, and Emberstorm Battlegroups are dealing with.

Let me assure you that we are working hard to resolve the issues as quickly as we are able. At this time all instances should be up and running as normal. If any players are still experiencing any issues, they should leave their instance, and reset it (or go to any other instance). For anyone that is experiencing any trouble with Raids, I would suggest a soft reset.

As far as anyone that is experiencing an issue with quest logs and Hunter having trouble with their pets, for now, relogging/zoning is helpful and should suffice in returning them.

I am going to be keeping a close eye on the situation, and return to this post as soon as I have any sort of update. Please be patient, I promise I will do all I can to relay that information as quickly as possible, so please remain calm, and cool. Additionally, I am going to ask that we please keep this topic to one thread from now on, so I will be locking any other threads that are created regarding this issue; and referring them here.

Thank you all for your patience while we look into and resolve all of this. :0)

I'm in your account sharding your purples!!!

Sorry, I had to.

Heh, yes, Deadlykris. As of this time, we have had no reports of anything going missing permanently. Everything should be as it was when this is all sorted out. :0)

Q u o t e:
Should affected players be waiting patiently for now, do they need to petition GMs in game, or what? There's quite a few people in General who are eager to know what's going on as well.

At this time, we are letting people know that we are aware of the issue at hand. Other than that, the Game Master Department is holding off on any further action until we see the results of resolutions that are being put in place. It appears that things should return to normal without the need to create a petition, thanks to some of the people working to get things up and running like normal, but I will let you know if that changes when that change is made. :0)

Just to add a realm to ur list Khaz'Modan is having serious issues with this missing characters and such that as of 5 minutes ago have been gone for about 30 minutes.

Just an update.

Thanks for hopping on this quickly Bliz...

Duplex, Khaz Modan is a part of the Vengeance Battlegroup listed in the first post, just to let ya know. It is a realm that we are aware of, and currently working diligently to resolve any issues on. :0P

Still getting

Interface/GlueXML/Glueparent.lua:284
Usage play glue ambience (Sound name "option fade in time")

Anyone that is currently missing characters on their login screen, receiving a LUA error (similar to the one above); creating a new character on that realm should refresh your list. From there you can feel free to delete the newly created character, if you wish. :0)

Q u o t e:
It's easy to say 'calm down' or 'have faith' when your level 70 druid that you have put time and heart into isn't missing. I understand things like this will happen, and I have no anger at the staff however it is very frustrating.

Believe you me, I know. My main is affected by this too. As I stated I had just walked in the door only a few minutes before I posted this. I was trying to play on my main when I noticed things not as they should, so, I rushed to work (since I knew no one had been here on the CSF for a while) to make sure you all were in the know . I am fully aware of how frustrating this can be. . . but I also know that we are doing everything in our power to resolve these issues as well. :0)

Q u o t e:

I know there's some people affected who have 10 characters and can't (in addition to not wanting to) delete one. Is there another way to fix this?
Yeah, very beaten to it. :p

The resolution that I gave was for those that are willing to try it. I understand that it has not returned everything to normal for all (though it has returned characters for some) and I realize that those with ten characters are unable to attempt it. It is simply a temporary solution for some, while we are trying to get something more set in stone for this issue. Do not worry, you do not have to delete a character that you have already created, or started to level to attempt this. We are still looking for a resolution for everyone that this did not help. :0)

Q u o t e:
Btw, would it be too much to ask to have the current status and known issues posted on the Realm Status forum? These problems have been known for at least a couple hours now and realm status still implies everything is normal.

I have checked in with those that would do as such, and they tell me they are currently in the process of doing so, Boojum. :0)

Take the servers down and reboot them already. How hard can this be?????

You obviously don't know the process behind shutting everything down and restarting it, Eao. It is a bit more complicated then pressing the power button on your computer. In addition to that, what good would it do if the realms returned in the same condition they were previously in?

I believe Khaz Modan was restarted moments ago; it should be back up and running, accepting players as normal. We are going to see how our efforts change the status of this realm, and from there decide how to proceed.

I did last night, and my characters on unaffected battlegroups aren't having problems.
Also, Auryk deserves a big squishy turtle hug for helping us with all this. ;)

Gladly accepted, Faizaniel! :0)

Status report Aegwynn is getting a server restart hopefully it will fixthe issue.

Guess go doesn't had as us as much as I though he did.

As Dalwick mentions, we will need to issue realm restarts to the following realms within 15 minutes:

Aegwynn
Altar of Storms
Anvilmar
Blackwing Lair
Doomhammer
Drak'thul
Undermine

If I am not mistaken, it appears that the restart on Khaz Modan resolved the issue with characters displaying as a level 1. If you are still experiencing an issue with this and are currently on Khaz Modan, please let me know as soon as you can. :0)

***Note this is ONLY for characters displaying as a level 1 when they are actually a higher level***

As of now, I logged into my 70 warrior on Drak'thul and have experienced NO PROBLEMS. Will post later if problems are found.

EDIT: Selling did NOT dc me.
EDIT2: Flying to Sanctum of Stars in SMV did NOT dc me.
EDIT3: my 25 huntards gear was fully restored.

I believe that I can say it is SAFE to play WoW again.

How about your quest log, Slashkill?

Why does it say I'm 60 instead of 70?

That is simply the forums not updating, your character in-game is still 70, I checked for you to make sure, Jadefire.

Livewyah, I have checked on your pets, and see that you have one named RoseBud, which is level 34, another at lvl 31 named Gump, and the one I believe you referred to in your post above, Spider, a lvl 21 pet. I am trying to look into possible solutions on you getting your other two returned to you, it may take a bit though.

Kerzaa, if you have already done the quests today, and still currently have the money for doing them, but are able to give them another go, I think it would be best to wait till tomorrow to do so.

Kerzaa, if you did not complete a quest, feel free to do it. I would just advise erring on the side of caution if it seems that what you are doing could be considered taking advantage of something that was not intended. That goes not only for this situation, but always.

Kerzaa and Livewyah, I believe your respective realms (Akama and Staghelm) were both restarted to assist in the issues both of you reported to me.

Kerzaa, or anyone on Staghelm, I would be very appreciative if you were able to get back to be with an update on this, letting me know if it did indeed resolve the issue.
