So you, Blizzard Devs, simply ignored the fact that we have a DoT tree and a DD tree and removed Dreadgear, throwing Pandemic talent on our eyes to justify in part the removal of the set.
Now that we're stuck with crit rating, which even with old Pandemic sucked for Affliction warlocks, since it only benefits 5 spells( haunt, shadowbolt, immolate, unstable aff, corruption), out of.. well alots.., god knows why our channeled spells dont crit and priests do.
With this new Pandemic you granted Corruption and Unstable Affliction the ability to actually critical strike, which in an DoT tree is really.. unintelligent.
First, it will be affected by resilience, TWICE( damage over time reduction, and crit dmg reduction ).
Second, being this a DoT tree, obviously it doesnt have any Critical Damage increasing talent, so instead of doing the normal DoT dmg plus 100% of it again, now it does the normal DoT dmg plus 50% for being a critical strike.
MATH PART:
So lets assume a Corruption tick that deals 1000 raw dmg, it will crit for 1500 raw dmg.
If you are resilience capped, -15% DoT dmg and Crit chance + 33% crit dmg reduction.
If you hit him with that corruption dot you will hit: 1000 - 150 = 850 dmg.
If you by any chance crit him with the same dot you'll hit: 1500 - 720(15%+33%) = 780 dmg.
So you actually hit LESS when you crit with Pandemic talent.
