i was 2v2ing last night and 3 seconds before the gates drop i get sapped has anyone had this happen to them

We have this issue fixed in 3.1.0. Sorry for the delay on this guys, I know this has been a terribly annoying bug for a lot of you.

We have a few other tweaks in the works for 3.1.0 Arenas as well:


--We have modified the waterspout effect in the Dalaran Sewers Arena to give players more warning before the water column is fully activated. This should give you a chance to get out of the way or at least let you cancel a cast since you will now know that the water is coming soon. The effect starts up about 5 seconds before the waterspout is fully active. We have a new zone wide sound attached to the effect now also.

--We also added a sound to the Ring of Valor to let players know that the flame wall will be opening up in the next 5 seconds. Again, just more early warning so you can plan accordingly. We cleaned up the art on the gates a bit too. It should be easier to see the gates opening now.

We just pushed a hotfix out today that will stop Warlocks from exploiting Demonic Circle in the starting tube of the Dalaran Sewers Arena.

We are also working on a hotfix for the gate issue in The Ring of Valor. ETA for that is soon, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon. We think we have finally found the root of the DC issues as well. Sadly, these are code fixes so they cannot go out as a hotfix. They are however, in 3.1.0.

We just pushed out two new hotfixes for The Ring of Valor Arena.

1. We have removed the gates entirely. This should fix any issues we had regarding players attacking or gaining position advantages before the match started. Players are now free to start the match as soon as they can get off the elevator.

2. We have fixed the issue of the flame wall not breaking fears, roots etc. The flame wall damage will now correctly respect the spell breaking rules like all other types of damage do. (breaking on x dmg, or % of total health)

We normally don't post about hotfixes but I really feel like these two issues are key for you guys to know about as soon as possible. These fixes are live as of right now.

Once again, im sorry for the delay on these fixes and moving forward we will try to catch issues like this faster.

Yes, all hotfixes for arenas hit the tourney realms as well.

Why can't I mount my freakin chopper in arena when I want to roll out the cage in style? And why can't I put up a ritual of souls for my team mates? Please look into these issues as well.


This is on tap for 3.1.0. Anything you can do on normal terrain you will be able to do on an elevator. Mage tables, Ritual of Souls etc.

I forgot one last thing that went into the Ring of Valor hotfix...

We now start the match with the small side pillars in the up position. They used to rise up a few seconds after the match began.
