Blizzard: Yes. The rating is tied to the team, not each individual member. As such, if a person leaves a team, he/she will lose his/her rating, but will not lose any arena points that have already been accumulated.
Players: Is there an Arena Team Master (like Guild Master) who can kick other members at will?
Blizzard: Yes. The player that creates the team is the team leader.
Players: If you are within the top 0,5% in several brackets (e.g. 2v2 and 5v5), do you receive 2 different titles and 2 mounts?
Blizzard: It is the same title regardless of the bracket, so the player would only have 1 new title. However, they should get 2 mounts in the mail.
Players: Do you have to learn the riding skill for the armoured Netherdrake or will you receive it with the mount?
Blizzard: The mount requires 300 riding skill in order to use.
Players: Are there different rewards for the second season?
Blizzard: This hasn’t been decided yet, we will let you know in due time if there are any changes for the second season.
Some more questions and answers, updated 20/2:
Q: How are Arena points awarded for the different teams?
A: Arena points are awarded on a weekly basis, but will be tallied and awarded during the maintenance.
The award amounts have been adjusted slightly and break down in the following fashion:
5v5 matches will award a full allotment of arena points.
3v3 matches will award 80% of the allotment.
2v2 matches will award 60% of the allotment.
Q: What are the costs for the arena charters?
A:
2v2- 80g
3v3- 120g
5v5- 200g
Q: I can’t turn in my arena charter, what can I do?
A: Some players are having problems turning in their charter if it is not in a slot in their main backpack. Try putting it there since it seems that is where the system is looking for it.
Q: To get the maximum of arena points, do you have to participate in all 3 formats?
A: You only gain points each week from the team that would give you the most points that week, so you don’t have to participate in all 3 teams to get the maximum of arena points.
Q: Why do you handle it this way? Why do you not add all the arena points together from all the formats?
A: If we combine your points from all three formats, then we'd be forced to balance the rate at which you gain rewards around the expectation that you're doing all 3 formats to the best of your competitive ability. Instead, we'd rather allow you to be "serious" about one of the formats and have the option to take the others less seriously if you so choose.
Q: What’s about a spectator mode for arenas? Will this be implemented at all?
A: We would love to have a way for others to be able to spectate arena matches. It's something we are looking into but don't have any more on that at this point in time. We realise that being able to cheer on your favourite team or your guild mates is always something people want to be able to do we just need to decide on how best to make something like that happen.
Q: Are Crowd Control abilities handled differently in arenas?
A: Crowd Control abilities in arenas are exactly the same as they are in any PvP situation. CC doesn't work in PvP quite the same as it does in PvE already. It hasn't changed anymore than that though.
Q: Why are poisons allowed in the arena and sharpening stones are not?
A: Poisons are an integral part of the rogue class, some talents also rely on their use. It is part of the rogue class, while a sharpening stone is simply a damage addition to any blade user.
Q: The game crashed while loading the arena and I got a loss, why is that?
A: We are aware of this concern and it is being looked at.
