Bye, Bye, Mr Molten Core Guy...

(To the tune of "American Pie")

A long, long time ago
I can still remember
How that raiding used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those core hounds dance
And, maybe, they'd be docile for a while

But January made me shiver
With every post the web would deliver
Change coming round the corner;
I would raid here no longer.

I can't remember if I cried
Seeing the old ways, as they died
But something touched me, deep inside
The day the old WoW died.

So bye-bye, Mr Molten Core guy,
Left Zul'Gurub to the farmers
And Blackwing Lair is now dry...
And the old school guys stay there giving their whine
Saying “This raid is the raid that I die,
This raid is my final goodbye”

But soon there will be more to love
And belief that 70 will have us buff
If Blizzard sing and tell us so.
Do you believe in Kharazan,
That such a place will be 25 man,
And that soon you XP bar will grow and grow?

Well, I know that you're feeling grim,
cause I saw you sitting, looking dim
You all just sat around
In game there – on the ground.

I was feeling bored and out of luck
With farming raids and quests that suck
But I knew interest would soon buck,
The day the old WoW died.

I started singin'
So bye-bye, Mr Molten Core guy,
Left Zul'Gurub to the farmers
And Blackwing Lair is now dry...
And the old school guys stay there giving their whine
Saying “This raid is the raid that I die,
This raid is my final goodbye”

Now for three years we've been sitting at home,
As our alts tread down the same old stone
But that's no longer how it'll be
For soon the Nether drakes will swim
Across our memories, growing dim
And a new world will welcome you and me.

Oh and as I fly there, looking down
And bomb the Allies, on the ground
Kalimdor court will be adjourned
And my Tier 2 gear will be returned
And I'll fight in arenas for the marks
And wander new plains, pretty as parks
And fight through dungeons new and dark
The day the old WoW died.

We started singin'
So bye-bye, Mr Molten Core guy,
Left Zul'Gurub to the farmers
And Blackwing Lair is now dry...
And the old school guys stay there giving their whine
Saying “This raid is the raid that I die,
This raid is my final goodbye”

Crazy days before Summer's swelter
Of to stores, wait outside without shelter
Miles or meters, we go there fast
And camp outside on steel and grass
Waiting for our chance, a new world pass
Members to be of the new cast

So I bid goodbye to Ritual of Doom
And the Flaming Piccolo's catchy tune
And stand by the bank and dance
Oh, but we never got the chance
To try our hand in the field -
To try those bosses not yet revealed
The day the old WoW died.

We started singin'
So bye-bye, Mr Molten Core guy,
Left Zul'Gurub to the farmers
And Blackwing Lair is now dry...
And the old school guys stay there giving their whine
Saying “This raid is the raid that I die,
This raid is my final goodbye”

We started singin'
So bye-bye, Mr Molten Core guy,
Left Zul'Gurub to the farmers
And Blackwing Lair is now dry...
And the old school guys stay there giving their whine
Saying “This raid is the raid that I die,
This raid is my final goodbye”
