It is indeed easy, but then again it was meant to be easy. Perhaps we will get to see a Heroic version next year... I guess that we will just have to wait and see :-)
The event designers wanted to make an encounter that was fairly easy and fun to do. It is easy to do in a PUG and there are some nice epic items as rewards for completing the end-quest for this holiday event. This is most likely something that we will see getting added in future events as well.
A small bonus is all the great World PvP on the way to the Scarlet Monastery Graveyards, although I am sure that some find that to be more annoying than fun :-)
