Arch. Mounts - Blue Tracker

I'm currently at 80, was told at 150 I had a chance at the raptor mount. How do I obtain it? Do I randomly dig it up, or do I have to save a lot of artifacts/fossils and then attempt to make it?

Archaeology is one of those peaceful things in game I do when it’s late and slow or when I’m queued up for a dungeon or LFR. It’s quite enjoyable and with the various pets and mounts you can “dig” up, there are some very strong incentives.

Folks here have given some great feedback and I thought I’d add something I noticed while flying around and digging: Each continent is quite different in terms of the types of dig sites you find. If you’re hoping to discover a particular item from one type of dig site, you may notice you’ll have much better luck having those sites pop up if you stick to Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, or Northrend depending upon what you seek. ;)
