In light of the warlock change, Kalgan put up some numbers. These are a godsend and they really let us know what's up. 100% means that the class is normally represented in arenas.

I am wagering a guess that once a class exceeds 150%, they start to consider nerfs. It's fun to comment on each class. Let's!

2v2 3v3 5v5
Q u o t e:
Druid 276.0% 184.0% 80.5%

So, druids are bad asses beyond belief in 2v2. Can you say wrecking ball? In 3v3, they are still over the range to be nerfed by 30%+ In 5s, they need some love. OK, so Lifebloom is getting a nerf? Lifebloom? Isn't Lifebloom a group power? Try Cyclone.

Q u o t e:
Hunter 43.0% 50.2% 43.0%

Prior to 1.12, Hunters were severely OP. Now? Judas priest! They suck. You can say all you want about them being smart or stupid, but these numbers are beyond that.

Q u o t e:
Mage 8.7% 96.0% 96.0%

3v3? Fine! 5v5? Fine! 2v2? Don't bother queing. Mage endurance needs an overhaul.

Q u o t e:
Paladin 19.7% 29.5% 147.4%

This just in! Amazing PVE healers excel in 5v5.

Q u o t e:
Priest 113.3% 164.8% 185.4%

My brother plays a priest. He says they are underpowered. Perhaps he is right, but only Shadow Spec. Disc/Holy seems to be melting face.

Q u o t e:
Shaman 37.8% 50.4% 138.6%

Like paladins, but with soul.

Q u o t e:
Rogue 144.2% 175.1% 61.8%

...Looks hard to balance. 3v3 looks OP while 5v% looks wimpy.

Q u o t e:
Warlock 149.2% 93.2% 111.9%

Average numbers... borderline in 2s but so are rogues.

Q u o t e:
Warrior 130.4% 90.7% 79.3%

I am surprised. I thought warriors were dominant.

So, there we have it. It seems that having high endurance is the key to 2v2. All of the classes with high endurance seem to dominate there. In 5v5, PVE specs seem to win out because of the larger group dynamics that come into play. 3v3 is a wildcard. Those numbers are all over the place and I can only assume successful 3v3 is an indicator of class versatility.

Sadly, I do not think they are taking the time to run these numbers by individual spec.

Funny how there is a nice big PVP tourney comming I guess Kalgan really wants his team to win it.

I am in no way eligible to participate in the tourney. So, no.

The numbers are all out there already. There is no reason for Blizzard (a biased first-party) to run numbers, nor for you to trust them, when it should be one-or-many independent 3rd-party vendors doing the study.

Call me crazy, but it would seem to me that Blizzard has a much greater interest in the validity of the numbers than the "independent" 3rd parties, whose primary interests are their characters or teams. =]
