The following realms will be taken down for extended maintenance on Tuesday, November 7 at 12:00 AM PST. This maintenance is expected to extend until Wednesday, November 8th at 12:00 PM PST. During this time, we will be transferring data onto a new storage solution in preparation for the forthcoming expansion. This continues the preparation we have been doing with all of our realms to optimize hardware and performance in the future. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve upon the service provided.

Q u o t e:
Could a blue poster clear this up because it seams a lot of people think we are getting new hardware, but nowhere in this post does it clearly state that we are. It says “new storage solution” which could very well mean they are only moving the data to a different database table structure that will “optimize” the current hardware we're using for Burning Crusade. I would think if we were getting new hardware they would clearly say “Guess what, you guys are getting brand new hardware!!”

The new storage solution can be considered new hardware as it replaces the old storage system and can in fact provide a performance improvement. These realms are the last to receive the planned hardware upgrades in our process to improve all of our realm sites in preperation for the expansion, and to improve performance overall.
