Deadmines: DM or VC?

I need a blue to tell me that I'm allowed to say DM as an abbreviation for Deadmines! This way I'll never have another 60 minute argument with some leet dude who totally has a 60 and runs Dire Maul all day long! I could just say "Blizzard officially stated that DM can be both instances."

(And regarding the "leet dude", just tell him that "old school" players remember the days when there was no Dire Maul, and the Deadmines were referred to as DM.)
