Blizzard and the Gay Community

I was recently reading the Harrassment Policy for WoW and found something rather startling. The penalties for using racist comments are more severe than the penalties for using homophobic language. Why is this? Why does Blizzard find one minority group needs to be protected more than another...especially since I hear far more homophobic comments ingame than racist ones?

It seems to me that Blizzard has a less than stellar track record with their gay community. First there was the whole "gay guild" incident. Then they changed the Blood Elf model because a bunch of homophobes thought it "looked too gay". You guys might want to review your policies.
