Reporting people for swearing?

I have never understood this, blizz put on a profanity filter and by DEFAULT it is ON... so if it's off why would you report someone for swearing when you have ELECTED to read it?

I was wondering when this week's installment of this question would show up.

Same answer as last week, and the week before that, all the way back to November 23, 2004.

The profanity filter is provided as protection for those who don't wish to see those words even if you choose to break the rules, not as a free ticket to use language inappropriate for the game as per the Terms of Use you agreed to upon registering your Account.

If you choose to break the rules, expect to be reported, and expect the appropriate consequences. My suggestion? Don't swear.
