Where has Jim leveled - Portable WoW

Well I got a Sony UX, an ultraportable compiuter with EDGE wireless and a friend suggested I start posting all the places I leveled. So I created a new account (this one) and am trying to take pictures of my chars leveling wherever I'm at at the time.

(In the past I've leveled in church, on the toilet, in a movie theater, on a beach, in many resteraunts, etc. This time I'm trying to log it all with photos).

Today was christmas shopping at Northgate Mall, followed by a trip to Seattle Cardiology with my grandpa.

I created a dwarven hunter on Gorgonnesh for this trip.
---------

Level 1 - Reality: Sitting waiting for a guy to ring up a gift certificate for my mom at Gene Juarez, Northgate Mall (Seattle WA)
In-game: Coldridge, hunting the wolves south of the starting point.

Level 2 - Missed the shot, leveled walking down the mall to EB.

Level 3 - Reality: Electronics Boutique, Northgate Mall (Seattle, WA)
In-game - Coldridge, hunting Frostmane Troll Whelps by their mine.

Level 4 - Again, missed the shot on the way to my car in the lot (I swear I'll get better at this)

Level 5 - Reality: Waiting room at Seattle Cardiology, Northwest Hospital (Seattle, WA)
In-game: Coldridge, turning in a quest at the dwarf camp by the frozen lake.

Level 6 - Reality: Seattle Cardiology (again, a long wait).
In-game: Coldridge - Turning in a quest to the gnome by the tunnel out of the newbie are.

Level 7 - Took it in the bathrom at Northwest Hospital (Seattle, WA)
*Decided to not post shot to avoid naughtiness in post*

--------------------

That was it for today. The image quality does not show very well in these shots, so I took a semi-closeup to try and give y'all a better feel for what playing on this little bugger is like.

It also has a touch screen/stylus wich makes for whipping around on the shortcut bars a breeze.

Oh, and my appology to the guy whose Goretusk I sniped, I was signing my recipit at Nordstroms and didn't notice you when I engaged.

Level 8 - Location in WoW: Steelgrill's Depot
Location in real life: Wells fargo at 145th and Greenwood (Seattle, WA)
On MP3 player: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Tertiary Phase
Condition of nails: Clean as an expunged juvinile record.
Weather in real life: Rainy

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o56/LeilaniLad/hunter_lev8.jpg

I wanted this picture to be with a guy at work, but I wound up being called to the phone if I stayed around, so after a while trying to get to 8 and not getting the time I just bit the bullet and went home.

On the way home I needed to stop to deposit my paycheck, so I decided to level up in the bank. They wouldn't let me take a pic inside. They also came up about 4 times to ask me if I needed help and I kept telling them, "I just need to finish this, one second."

Unlike the mall no one at the bank seemed to recognize the sounds coming from the portable.

I'm going to try to get the pic at work and failing that there's a famous troll nearby, waiting to pose in the background...

*** Dec 22, 2006 - Level 9 ***

Location in game: Dun Morogh, hunting bears south of Brewnall Village
Location in real life: N. 36th St. underneath the Aurora Bridge - The Fremont Troll
On MP3 player: Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
Condition of nails: Honestly, so-so.

I've run into a few trolls in this thread, so I thought I'd toss in a local troll of some repute.

The Fremont Troll was sculpted in 1990 by four local artists froma comission by the Fremont Arts Council. It was made more famous locally when a bus ran off the bridge above and crashed a few feet away about 10 years ago. That's a VW Bug in it's left hand.

You also have to love a neighborhood where you can pull up to someone walking their dogs and ask, "Where's the troll" and they give you directions without batting an eye =).

*** Dec 25, 2006 - Level 10 ***

Location in game: Frostmane Hold, southwest of Brewnall Village
Location in real life: Sky City Lounge, Space Needle (Seattle, WA)
Music playing: Some light piano piped in by the resteraunt.
Condition of nails: Durn purty, dag nab it.

Here's the level, a bit blurry:

Sharper picture just a second before, showing the beautiful Puget Sound:

Lastly, a shot without the puter while waiting for the car:
http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o56/LeilaniLad/needle.jpg

I remember The Needle well growing up, before it was all high class. There was a John Williams Star Wars concert at the Key Arena back in the day and a dinner for the kids afterwards at the needle. I cried when Darth Vader showed up (I was like 4). I also remember a lot of these Lunar Sundaes they used to make, with dry ice in the bowls to make fog while you ate them, very cool for a kid. Nowadays the needle has a swanky lounge at the top and you never see a guy in a Weedle costume wandering around.

Memorable movie/t.v. appearences of The Needle: The guy gets shot at the beginning of The Paralax View during a presidential fundraiser in the observation lounge. Also fondly remember the World's Fair short, "Century 21 Calling", which was immortalized in an MST3K episode. Kids ride up The Needle's elevator at the end of the short to gaze out at a bad process shot of a sunset over the Sound.

*** March 25, 2007 - Level 11 ***

Location in game: Picking off Black Bears, just outside Steelgrills Depot
Location in real life: Cindy's House of Pancakes, 105th and Aurora
Nails: Nerfed, no longer part of shot.
Music in the background: Land of 1000 Dances

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o56/LeilaniLad/dwarf11.jpg

Cindy's opened in 1958, WAY before my time. I love the art-deco, a hand-stiched moth quilt would not be out of place in this joint. Cindy's has been a Sunday staple for a long time in my family. I'm an expensive date here (I always order two large Holland pancakes). It's wierd, I actually ordered Holland-style pancakes in Amsterdam, and they were no where near as yummy as the ones here in Seattle. If you don't find me here on a Sunday morning I'll more than likely be at the diner in Sunset Lanes.

Cindy's tip: If you order a soda, ask for it in an iced tea glas, otherwise you get a little 8 ounce soda that's gone in 2 sips. This way you get a healthy 40 ounces or so of caffine =).

Great idea! Keep us updated Jim.

If it's possible and you can get around to it, I would love to see a picture at Pike Place with some salmon flying in the background. :)

You made it to the front page of the website, if you hadn't noticed. :)

If I can make a recommendation I would like to see the original post be edited with any new updates, just for ease of following along.
