My experience points have stopped at level 20

don't know if anyone knows the answer, but I stopped gaining experience for my character after I reached level 20. I asked around and was told it was because I was on a trial membership. Since then My trial has expired and I have purchased the upgrade. I tried my character again, however, I am still getting no experience points for killing my enemies. Does anyone have any suggestions??

My only thoughts are that you're either killing enemies that are too low level for you to gain experience from, or that while you've upgraded your trial account there is still some "trial time" left on it. I'm not positive on the second part as to the functionality of upgrading a trial account but I believe that's how it works.
