Things like malicious program posting, extreme racial, sexual content , real life threats, and more can easily be on the permanent ban list.

There is a lot of discretion based on prior history of a poster and what they are posting in particular as to how long the length of suspension can be. Sometimes the mods just give a little love tap of an hour to 3 to let people know not to do it again. We try to be as lenient as possible when possible, but sometimes need to be much more proactive in taking care of those that try to disrupt the forums.

The best bet is, when in doubt, don't post it.
