The Way of the Ronin

The ronin has no guild.

The ronin does not seek to become a ronin, nor does he eschew it.

The ronin does not claim it is better to be a ronin. Nor does he claim it is better to be in a guild. It is enough simply to be in the game.

The ronin does not claim to be a better player than any other, regardless of level, class, race, or faction, nor does he admit that any other player is better than him. In PvP, he wins with grace and loses with dignity. The ronin does not allow other players to goad him into dishonor, and he does this by never judging another’s play.

The ronin cherishes his weapons, and does not despise their inferiority to other weapons. So too with his armor, his steed, and his equipment. But, the ronin does not eschew new equipment if he comes upon it.

The ronin will ask for assistance after he has exhausted his own resources. He will help others if he feels they have done the same. The ronin asks for no rewards, but does not refuse them if offered.

The ronin will become yojimbo if his journey take him into an instance, or other situations that require participating in a pickup group. In fighting he places honor above all else, and will eschew his quest, or new equipment, if doing so is honorable over selfish gains or ninja activities.

The ronin keeps to himself, farming low-level instances or patches of land for mobs and drops, until he sees a pickup group that will take him to places he needs to go. Once he commits, he does not leave the group until their goal has been accomplished, or the group has dispersed for its own reasons. He does not become frustrated over multiple wipes. He does not complain about ninja rolls.

The ronin makes no excuses for failure. Neither Blizzard nor his keyboard nor real life can mitigate his mistakes, so he does not blame them. He apologizes, asks for forgiveness, and endeavors to never make the same errors twice.

The ronin asserts his opinion only through silence. If he is misunderstood, he attempts to explain, but does not insist on acceptance. If the ronin finds cooperation is impossible, he leaves silently and with no regrets.

The ronin seeks only to wander Azeroth, learn her history, and better his soul through honorable activity. This is the way of the ronin.
