I really hope that its coming soon. If not it is what it is. Even though I look like a football player from the 60's.

I have confirmed that the fix isn't on the current build of the PTR but will be on it in one of the next upcoming builds. It is going into patch 2.2.0 and just to reiterate, was never an intentional change to the graphic.
