There are items that have been asked several times, or have been blown out of proportion. In an effort to keep blood-vessels from bursting in those who frequent the boards (like myself), I am compiling an FAQ of recent topics. I will add more as needed.

Expansion - Burning Crusade

Q: Has the expansion been delayed?

A: There is a Sticky Post in the General Forums Titled "Media Alert". It states that their target release of "Q4 2006" is being pushed back to "January, 2007" to allow more time for Beta Testing.

Q: Will there be a patch released before the Expansion?

A: Yes, but when it will be released has yet to be determined.

Q: Will Reputation be reset in The Burning Crusade?

A: No.

Q: Will current "Legendary Items" be upgradable in The Burning Crusade?

A: No. Just like level 19 epic items, the level 60 Legendary Items will also become outdated. However, they will give you an advantage in levelling from 60 to 70.
[I scoured the Blue Posts, but couldn't find the thread for this one. If someone spots it, please post the link for me.]

Q: Any plans to add Artifact items in TBC?

A: Not currently.

Q: When the expansion comes out, can I change my race?

A: No.

Q: I heard that in TBC, items will require a minimum amount of Enchanting Skill to disenchant the items. Is this true?

A: Yes
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=35885547&postId=356926441&sid=1#2

Q: Currently there are books that drop, giving classes higher ranks in skill than are currently trainable. How will this work with TBC? Will we need the books before we can train to the next rank after that?

A: All of the ranks that can be learned by book drops will be trainable from the trainers. Most, if not all, of the "book ranks" can be trained at level 62.

Q: I heard that Dungeons will have an "easy" and "hard" setting. Is this true?

A: From what we know, some dungeons in TBC that you go through while leveling, you can go through again at level 70 with the "hard" setting, which will scale the dungeon mobs and loot for level 70's.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
In regards to instances in TBC:

As I understand it, Blizzard has stated that they will not open the expansion with no new 40 man instances, rather they will cap the instances at 25 persons.

1. Does this mean no new 40 person instances will ever be created?
1a. Blizzard has a long standing history of listening to its customers. If there was demand for more 40 man content, would one be implimented?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A1. They have been fairly careful at not saying "yes" or "no", so that they don't get blasted on the forums if things change in 2 days/months/years.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
2. Will current 40 person instances will be capped down to 25?
2a. Will we be able to raid MC, BWL, etc. with 40 level 70s?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A2: They have stated that existing instances will not be changed. They will stay at 40-man caps. Also, they do not currently have the ability to add the option to change the difficulty levels of existing instances so that the can be ran again at a higher level, with scaled drops. (The difficulty option is planned for the BC instances.)

A2a: Yes, you will be able to raid those with 40 level 70's, however they estimate it would only require 15-25 70's or so.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
3. Will this type of a change impact existing Battlegrounds? And what will the cap be on the new Battlegrounds?
3a. Will AV still be the 40v40 chaos that I so very much love and enjoy?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A3: They have stated the caps will be 60-69, leaving 70's in a queue on their own.

A3a: Other than the changes to the Honor System, they have stated no plans to change the way the current BG's are setup.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q u o t e:
4. Blizzard does not permit more than 80 players to work together at a time. Will this change?
4a. My apologies if this is false. I've only heard of this rule "2nd hand," and have not verified the accuracy of this statement.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A4: I have not heard anything regarding this, but I'll keep my eyes open.

Jewelcrafting

Q: If you socket one of your items with something will you be able to remove whatever it was you put in that socket?

A: Currently, you are able to overwrite an existing gem with a new gem. This destroys the existing gem.

The Card Game

Q: I hear you can get in-game items from the WoW Card Game.

A: Yes, but they are all Vanity items. They do not impact any aspect of the game other than giving your character additional visual flair.

Q: Does Blizzard plan on continuing this trent to include non-Vanity items?

A: No, they don't believe that would be fair.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=39304419&postId=392109779&sid=1#16

Q: I hear one item you can get in the Card Game is a Turtle Mount that you can use at any level - that's not fair!

A: The Turtle Mount does not increase your speed. As one poster put it, "It's just a shiny pair of shoes"...albeit large and green shoes, but there you have it.

Q: I hear you can get a Second Hearthstone in the Card Game.

A: No. There was a post by Nethaera stating that she got a Hearthstone in the TCG, but she was referring to the card, not an in-game prize.
