The reason why it's mostly Horde in Alliance is that various people sent in really good shots of those types of invasions. If you look through the archive of ALL of the PVP shots, there's probably a more equal representation. If you have really good PvP shots, we're collecting them. Send them in. We like to see high quality shots of something new or interesting or at least a LOT of people on the screen.

The Web Team had some feedback they wanted to give you as food for thought-

Thanks for the feedback on the screenshot of the day submissions and postings. We thought we’d take this opportunity to give some more insight into the screenshot of the day selection process.

The screenshots of the day are moderated daily by the web team. Every screenshot among the hundreds a day we receive is seen and filtered. There is admittedly a little bias in the process as our initial screening is determined by one person. Previously, we just selected random screenshots and found they weren’t very interesting. Once we had a more hands on approach, we felt our screenshots of the day vastly improved. You can see the difference on this page: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downloads/ssotd/#685 starting with images after #685. We do run all of our final selections past multiple people before posting.

Because we receive so many screenshots per day (sometimes one per minute), it’s very hard to be selected unless your screenshot is visually impressive, original, funny, or ideally, a combination of the above. But do not let that deter you from sending in your shots. Because we receive so many, we can select the best of all of the submissions which gives us the best possible results.

Screenshots have subjective appeal, like our comics. What is funny or interesting to you might not be funny or interesting to someone else. It’s hit-and-miss even to those within Blizzard that view the same screenshots. If you do not like what you see, send in your own!

As someone has pointed out, we do sometimes have repeated themes such as mounts, blood elves, furbolgs, TCG cards, etc. Typically we queue up about 60-90 shots in advance. Sometimes we collect screens into a batch based around a theme then release them in a row. This may be annoying to people who don’t like the theme, but since we only post one shot a day, we have to string them together day by day if we’re posting more than one picture of an event.

We recently started a new theme-based submission process where we solicit screenshots based on specific, changing topics. We announce these screenshot targets in our news section. We don’t receive as many submissions for these topics so if your shot is good it’s much easier to be selected for the site. We encourage you to participate in these.

Thanks again for the feedback! We listen. And keep those screens coming!
