Why was it deleted? Is it not allowed to talk about WoW stuff in binary?

Blizz is discriminating against people who speak binary! Omg!

Technically, yes, as we only offer support on the U.S. forums in English, and request that all conversations take place in English. : )

Actually, binary isn't necessarily not English. I can post English encoded as binary, just like I'm typing right now in English encoded as Roman characters (encoded as ASCII (or are these boards Unicode?)).

What you really mean is that the mods have to be able to read the posts ;)

Don't worry, I concede your point. Shakespeare's first works in Binary were absolutely cutting edge.

Of course we're open to other cultures; but as we do not offer support for multiple languages, we are not required -- as moderators -- to know multiple languages. For this reason, moderating a forum would be pretty difficult if people were speaking different languages to try and avoid repercussions in accordance with the posting guidelines and Code of Conduct.

Besides, for the TLDR crowd, binary has to be one of the most inconvenient languages through which one may get one's point across on a Discussion forum.

Hence it's uncommon useage.

If people want to spend the time to talk in binary, why don't you just move the thread to off-topic instead of deleting it?

If anyone really wants to talk in binary for the thrill of it all, they can do so on a Binary Users Anonymous forum. We're not going to take the time to decode and translate every post a person makes because they want to use 1's and 0's to represent words.

The majority of people will be using it for the novelty, not to break the code of conduct. Sure, there will be some doing that, but don't you think that's an acceptable price to pay for our freedom to communicate in a code comprised of 0s and 1s?

Not really. I'm only trying to look out for you... like a big brother, if you will.
