A hunter taking Ashkandi?
Holy priest taking nethalrions Tear?

Aaah good old days. Seems silly looking back on it now, how long will it be until you see the same with your current loot?

Q u o t e:
I think it did lessen dramatically. Most of the reason for that is that class mechanics are now better understood by both Blizzard and the players. Itemization is better, which produces more uniform results *and* players understand *why* a hunter might take leather shoulders (as my hunter did in Kara) that would be ideal for a rogue. It's not that it doesn't kind of suck to be the priest who wanted a cloth bracer that a pally took, but we now have a deeper understanding of *why* the pally took it (and the general expectation that the pally won't have to quite as often), and why that makes sense.

It may have decreased, but I still see players get into big fights over pieces like the DPS-cloth dungeon set. So I don't think it's completely gone.
