I can't remember the last time I bid on an item.

I've heard it can be fairly lucrative, as you can sometimes get something for far less than it's worth due to a bad differential between the bid and buyout. But still, that's an item with a buyout generally...

The only reason to not place a buyout that I can think of would be to test the market, see what you can get for an item before putting up a large amount of it. Which is really only necessary when there's no basis available for what its normal selling price is in that realm's economy, which not only doesn't happen often, but there are plenty of websites that average buyout costs and can at least give you a jumping off amount.

... and that was a lot of talking to say "I agree, there's no excuse not to have a buyout".
