Blizzard:

Will a broadband connection be needed to play Burning Crusade?

Blizzard Optional Question:

WHY!?

Broadband Jerks:

Nobody wants to hear your random uneducated mumblings, so don't reply. You can't begin to imagine why 49% of the Internet is still dialup.

While it will still be possible to connect to our service and patch using a dial-up connection once the Burning Crusade releases, World of Warcraft is evolving, and as our patches grow larger, it could take dial-up users a very long time to receive the necessary updates. As a result, we’re unable to provide support for problems that might arise when patching through a dial-up connection. We will still offer support for general dial-up connectivity issues and are even looking into alternatives for players who are unable to receive the patch.
