There are definitely a lot of different influences to the game architecture as pointed out. The artists put their own flair on it all and I think one of the things I really enjoy is the addition of the Forsaken's own architecture at last instead of just borrowed architecture.

There are some definite interesting new buildings that lend atmosphere to Northrend as well.
