We can pull actual data on a lot of things, and we're going to be watching AV after the recent changes closely. We may make additional changes, but we want to see how things play out for a bit and everyone adjusts.
Handicaps are generally pretty messy, and it doesn't really fall in line with our general philosophies. Punishing someone for playing better than someone else isn't a lot of fun, we should be rewarding someone for winning, doing well, performing better, etc. The question I guess is how much reward is someone getting, and how much are they not if they don't play well.
That then draws into the conversation of why horde seem to do better in battlegrounds. If you look at the top arena teams you'll see a pretty even mix, it fluctuates here and there but there are battlegroups that have damn near 50/50, or even alliance favored. I think it's safe to say there's something else factoring in outside of any game mechanic or balance. How do you put a marker on that difference, and how can you possibly correct for it? All good questions, all very difficult to perceive accurately and act upon accordingly.
