Pre-WOTLK Quotes and What actually happened

For those that actually think Cata will fix anything... consider this:

Just thinking back over time: I've paraphrased all Blizzard quotes because I couldn't find a source.

All quotes were initially communicated Pre-WOTLK

Q u o t e:
AOE tanking is very tricky. We want to make tanks able to hold agro on more than one mob for when its necessary, but we will make pulls that hit tanks hard enough that a tank that tries to hold all of them won't survive

Yet, all of WOTLK has been an AOE fest...

Q u o t e:
You can expect to see some eye-popping Concussion Blows and Shield Slams

Yet, they decided to put CB damage below where it was in TBC. Shield Slam has also repeatedly been revised.

Q u o t e:
We want tanks to worry about DPS stats as well.

Yet those tanks that choose to gear for DPS are the target of nerfs.

Q u o t e:
We want Thunderclap to be the AOE ability of Warriors without making Prot Warriors overpowered with Shockwave.

Thunderclap can't even hold agro over of healers, let alone DPS. Shockwave is the only thing that keeps warriors even remotely in the realm of feasible.
