Engineering Gadgets - What you would like to see?

OK I like engineering. Gadgets are fun and some are even useful.

So for example:

The back could be replaced with a mechanical wing which requires you to press a button to make them flap causing lift. In none flyable zones you jump off a cliff and you can glide down :)

Anyone else got an idea ?
