The great character model flaw compendium!

Yes! The time has finally come!

I've watched, I've waited, I've followed the updates, checked the patches and read the posts and it's abundantly clear to me that nothing will come if we as players do not act. So here it is at long last; the thread to end all threads on the subject.

We can do this as a team so get crackin', gang. We have to list every single flaw with the character models one by one. Not simply whine about how the female worgen looks like a chihuahua or the male orc shouldn't slouch but actually describe and if possible post pictures of the horrific mistakes made when it comes to character design. Objective facts of sloppy design, not subjective opinions that would surely devolve the discussion into a back and forth on what's superior.

"But wait, o, magnificent warlock!" I hear you ask, "what's the gol dern point of any of this? Blizzard doesn't read these forums!" and right you are, good lads and nots. I need you. Yes, you, to take the aspects of this list that bothers you most and report it ingame as a bug so that it goes into the library of issues to be adressed! The EU forums can be safely ignored, reported bugs cannot. Only our own silence can defeat us! Post your flaws and encourage everyone to report them for the bugs that they are!

Bugs so far sorted by race:

Blood Elves:

For Blood Elf male Monks, the CM chestpiece is bugged, the green emblem on the sleeves appears twice and one of them is cut in half, and obviously does not belong there.

For Blood Elf males, smaller shoulder armor pieces clip into their shoulders.

Blood Elf Males hold their fishing poles incorrectly while fishing. It's basically turned 45 degrees in their hands or so.

Female blood elf Death Knights have their eye glow effect positioned improperly.

Blood elf Females under the effect of levitation have their legs jerk around oddly.

Blood elf males hold their bows in a position that would make them impossible to draw with the string positioned on the outer forearm.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/h3FgkR4.jpg

Female Blood Elves wear their Warglaives back to front.

One of the female blood elf hairstyles has some kind of weird graphical glitch in the front part of the hair.

Picture: http://imgur.com/RZjObNj

All colours of this hair style are affected by it and it is more noticeable when in game than it is on the character creation screen.

While you have earrings on, wearing a helm makes the earrings disapear on a blood elf.

Female belf hunter shoulderpads clip right through their face when they shoot their bow
This still happens no matter the size of the pads. As a sidenote, please for the love of chocolate give us a toggle shoulders option as with helmets and cloaks already...

Blood elf females use the wrong animation with daggers, weilding them as if they're swords or maces.

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1846867-TIL-The-new-Blood-Elf-Female-model-uses-the-wrong-Dagger-animation

The bloodfang hood and its various recolors are glitched out on blood elves of both genders.
You can see the glitch on wowhead's 3D thingy aswell. its basicly where you look when you run around with your toon. The back of the head. Hair and head stick out.

Goggles and eye patches are not worn tight against the eyes, but rather there's a gap between the eyes and the gear piece making it look really odd. This is the case for most races and genders I believe.

Having the •Furious Gladiator's DreadplateHelm on a blood elf, makes the hair sticking out of it all weirdly.

Draenei:

Draenei women wear their shields crooked.

Using a female draenei model while using the Silk Headband makes the hair look glitchy

Using the Azure(or other coloured) Silk Hood while mounted, makes it stick out really far away in a very solid way:

Female draenei's "high tail" haircut is a "limp tail" at best. Has a completely different silhouette than the original. It needs serious tweaking to measure up to the old.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/CStOBgo.jpg

Legs vanish under robes. Especially on draenei. Characters simply hover without any visible connection.
This was the case with the old models as well but the new ones removed the "cap" under the robes, making the absence of legs that much more obvious.

Female draenei horns simply vanish at a certain level of zoom, leaving gaping holes in their heads. This is not the case on the old model.

Female Draenei on a Summoned Chauffeur, have an abnormally long neck and ith as never been fixed.

Picture: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CSBNW5TXAAEv2nZ.jpg

When using the Dance with a female draenei, the lips stay weirdly too high.

Picture: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CSI3nuiXIAAVQqX.jpg

Female draenei used to have fur at the base of their hooves.
Apparently they shaved...

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/opEOI5G.jpg

Draenei females have asymmetrical teeth and shoulder armour is angled improperly. Why is it always the shoulder armour, blizzard? Bows are drawn awkwardly as well.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/tzhpjSN.png

Draenei Female Monk Transcendace and Zen Flight sitting lotus possition is bugged. her butt gets inside her body.

Gnomes:

Gnome males have some of their faces contorted and twisted into a grimace ingame despite having a perfectly neutral expression in their character portrait.

Picture: http://imgur.com/x4R4PuD

Humans:

Female humans have all weapons models grow immensely in size when weilded. Most are already substantial when sheathed but once drawn, a dagger becomes a longsword and a greatsword becomes a crippling hernia.

Pic: http://i.imgur.com/qMIvirm.jpg

Equipped Shields on Human Males are in the wrong position, they sit too far up on the arm.

Large belts on human male models are off-center. Supposedly a result of the idle position of the feet, causing the torso to be slightly twisted, in turn misplacing the larger belt models. This was fixed previously but made an inglorious return recently!

Picture: http://imgur.com/a/b2EEu

The textures on non-standard Cloak models are distorted and warped on Human Males.

Human male hip sheathed weapons are in an almost horizontal angle. Has been bugged since wotlk.

Cursed Vision of Sargeras on Human Females is positioned below the eyes:

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/iyZn52N.jpg

Headbands, Cursed Vision and Engineering goggles are too big for Human Males:

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/1yFncte.jpg

Male human headgear looks... off. It seems it is 25% bigger than it has to be - all the helmets look floating around PC's head, and every type of goggles or headband just floats around like a halo.

Night Elves:

Shoulder gear on Night Elf Males is lopsided and misaligned.

Female Night Elves have no eyelashes and when using certain expressions, their eye glow shifts in a very glitchy way.

Screens:

- https://gyazo.com/2a111c4917deb3f6d18b575bca5a4f8e

Night Elf males, when eating food, do not actually eat, they just hold a bread between their legs and do not move at all. Maybe their new mage friends taught them how to teleport food into their bodies directly.

Female night elves and blood elves have their sitting animation cease looping after a few seconds, freezing the model in place like a mannequin which is supremely creepy.

Orcs:

Male orcs fold their lip in a very strange fashion when making certain expressions.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/ZW7FICs.jpg

When male orcs hold 2 handed weapons, their shoulders eclipse their heads.
This is most likely due to the oversized shoulder models and can be fixed by giving us a toggle and scaling the armour model by reducing the numericals of their placement. As is, orc male shoulders are way too large.

Male orc portraits and inventory models have one single set face.
It doesn't matter which one you pick for your character, the inventory and portrait has the same single face.
Surely not unique to male orcs.but it's a jarring example. I used test characters with very distinct features and broad noses, far removed from the "standard" in the inventory model for contrast.

Pic 1: http://i.imgur.com/J01ESAS.jpg

Pic 2: http://i.imgur.com/ky1yV0U.jpg

Two characters, same face in the inventory. All that happens is a skin swap.

Pandaren:

Pandaren ears vanish completely while wearing hoods. This is especially strange since there are holes in the hood made for the ears but no ears to fill them!

Pandaren of both genders have an inordinately long kneeling animation for placing traps.

Male pandaren hands and facial hair locks in place, ceasing any animation when camera is zoomed out and this also applies to their hands, stopping any grip animation making them hold weapons with open palms.

Male pandaren have their off hand weapons tilted oddly.

Female pandaren in robes, the rear foot when idle sticks through the robe.

Tauren:

The female tauren jump animation is sloppy and unfinished, instead of straight jump upward, it goes to left side and then straight down.

Tauren shield clipping is really badly done. (Pictures to elaborate needed!)

Trolls:

A long list of the fails of the troll models exist on MMO champion:

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1762537-Troll-models-in-6-2

The male troll braided hair lacks any kind of animation, sticking out as if completely solid.
Bugged/unfinished but reported since WoD beta. Very much a source of dismay.

Picture: http://oi57.tinypic.com/64mmh4.jpg

Shoulder armour on female trolls is positioned too far back, causing the front to clip through the shoulder on several sets.

Pic: http://i.imgur.com/R8PEmSy.jpg

Male trolls hold their cups oddly when drinking, pouring everything onto their chests!

Pic: http://i.imgur.com/Lneknve.jpg

Undead:

The shape of undead female heads has been distorted and flattened.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/WstdZQZ.png http://i.imgur.com/2HxnRgb.png

Undead females have their faces twisted in their portraits and inventory model while looking fine ingame.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/rX8YSok.jpg

Undead portrait scaling is severely off.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/cOXt4BB.png http://i.imgur.com/MHOAP2x.png

Worgen:

Camera is placed way too high when mounted as male worgen.

The female worgen is just plain infamously unfinished and flawed. A few points of note:

Texture stretching among other things: http://i.imgur.com/EisQDVm.jpg

Poor animation bending the model awkwardly: http://i.imgur.com/3LrnbKd.jpg

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1098880-Worgen-Add-Alpha-Female-Worgen-Model-Features-as-Options!!!

Generic flaws & shoddy work:

Faces in the character screen have different expressions than the character itself.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/wFCIyg2.jpg

The new Gryphon mount models have weird feather streaks in the middle of the wings comming out of it, meanwhile the new gryphon models that are used for Taxi sitting in those boxes, have that fixed.

Targeting Icons show a hideous decay in model quality never seen with the old model.

Picture: http://i.imgur.com/VPe8bwq.png

Camera zoom decays the character definition to an extent similar to the portrait decay.

Weapons clip through cloaks. Somewhat unavoidable but can be remedied by adjusting the weapon position at the hip just as the new orc female had her stance adjusted to keep weapons from glaringly cut through her arm. Specific examples and picture references would be great to expand on this issue.

All new character models have bugged feet when wearing sandals, footwraps or barefoot style boots - their feet turn into blocks.

I just want to chime in here and say that, in general, using the Bug Report option in-game is the best way of reporting any type of bug you've encountered. You are, of course, welcome to discuss these issues on the forums but any reports ultimately all end up in the same repository. The developers do have an internal priority system though, which means that some bugs may be squashed sooner than others.

Thanks for taking the time to make these reports! :)
