Blizzard's solutions for pvp?

Base Resilience for level-90 players is now 77% (up from 72%). Base Resilience for players below level 90 remain at 40%.

Battle Fatigue now reduces healing received while in PvP combat by 60% (up from 55%).

Gladiator’s Distinction, the set bonus for wearing two PvP trinkets, now grants 5280 Resilience (up from 2600).

Why is their solution for everything to just increase numbers?

We've been pretty open about the fact that we don't like how high Base Resilience and Battle Fatigue are either. At the moment, however, they're necessary. We have a lot of underlying systems work to do (such as working with player health pools and ability scaling) before we can lower them. That's all coming with the expansion.

There are a number of classes that are flat out broken from a damage stand point on the PTR and resilience isn't going to help that.

Possibly. We're watching things extremely closely right now. The problem we have, at least currently, with making PvP balance changes based on PTR experience is that it's often inaccurate and very rarely enough to be conclusive. It's unfortunate and frustrating for everyone involved, including the design team, but we kind of have to take a wait and see approach sometimes.
