Why is old world leveling so fast?

I remember when i dreaded leveling from about level 30 and onward in classic wow/TBC, and having come back and restarted a couple of months ago after quitting right before wrath, anybody can now level up til 75ish in a matter of days with little effort/time and no challenge like elite and group quests. Why is all the old content so easy now?
