MORE ABOUT PIRATES’ DAY

On one day only, September 19, you too can celebrate Pirates’ Day. Rumor has it that Dread Captain DeMeza herself will invade Booty Bay, bringing corsairs and cannons to fire on approaching vessels. Keep an eye out for First Mate Hapana, and expect to see commoners in pirate garb in capital cities. Ask them to help you dress like a pirate, and join in the fun.

First, talk to one of those landlubbing pirate commoners to receive a costume to help you get into the spirit of Pirates’ Day. Now you look like a proper sea-dog, it’s time to head over to Booty Bay to join in the real fun.

There, look for Dread Captain DeMeza and her crew, who have taken over the roof of the Booty Bay bank and auction house. Pluck up the courage to talk to Captain DeMeza, and you’ll become an honorary crew member and transform into a pirate for 12 hours. This costume buff may be clicked off but persists through combat, mounting, death, hornpipes, saying “Arrrr!”, and most acts of piracy.

Activities
Dread Corsair

Talking with Captain DeMeza will give you the Dread Corsair buff, which lasts for 12 hours, and persists through death (although it will be lost after shapeshifting). Your character’s gender and race don’t change when you adopt this piratical look.

Corsair's Costume

This costume buff gives you the looks of a real Corsair and lasts for one hour. Just accost one of the appropriately attired commoners hanging around Azeroth’s cities and demand your outfit. As with the longer-lasting Dread Corsair buff, you’ll still be the same old you underneath your new get-up.

Dread Crew

Briefly ashore for mischief and revelry, a crowd of pirates dance, talk, eat, drink, laugh, and shoot fireworks atop Booty Bay’s bank. Ask Baron Revilgaz what he thinks of these invading bilge-rats.

Thunderous celebration

A trio of cannoneers will fire their cannons out into the bay every so often – at times, just barely missing the sails of the incoming transport. Shiver me timbers!

Roof party!

Lively pirate-themed music plays upon the rooftop. Time to /dance!

ACHIEVEMENTS
