As a fresh 90, I have a question

I hit 90 last night and started working on the Isle of Thunder and running Heroics. After dying many many many times I was curious about something. Is the Isle not for fresh 90's? Am I supposed to spend weeks doing everything else then go to the isle?

If you want to be more forward looking, Bashy also wrote the guide for getting a character or alt geared-up and prepared for 5.3.
