Beta Realm Maintenance - 8/18/12

Beta Realms will be coming down at 11:05am PST. I will be updating this thread with information and time estimates as I receive them.

Downtime usually lasts between 5 and 7 hours, if that window changes I'll update you.

I keep this thread open and pretty relaxed, but please keep the conversation constructive, respectful, and reasonably game-related.

I wonder how long before they close the Beta.

They said 2 weeks before it goes live so that would put it at Sept. 11th or so. Since the 11th is the normal maintenence day it seems to be logical to do it that day.

Yeah that's pretty much the time frame as of right now. Give or take a few days, there's really nothing forcing us to close it on a Tuesday.

Monday would have been an ideal day for this IMO. Yes I'm aware there's all kinds of legitimate reasons for doing it today. I stand by my original comment.

There will probably be another one on Monday or Tuesday as well, so JFYI.

Dear Sapperwix,

When Beta goes down approximately 2 weeks before launch, do you guys continue to test and identify issues in the content itself or is it usually expected to be a complete product about 2 weeks before launch. Just curious.

QA never stops testing the game, with a live product we're always striving to make the game better tomorrow than it is today.

I wouldn't say more, likely it'll be at the pace it's been the past week or two. Maintenance and a new build every 2-4 days.

That's not a promise of a schedule or anything but based on the information I have that's around what it'll be.

Beta characters go away when the beta does. It's like Brigadoon.

This push is moving a little faster than usual, we may be up in about an hour to two.

Should be back up in the next half hour, if not sooner.
