I'm tired of having to mouse over it every once in a while to see if I need to rebuff my own buff. It is so much easier to be able to look at the buffs and see that I'm missing one rather than having to take an extra step. I don't understand why the option itself was removed ... leave it in the game.
When this feature is fully implemented, it will only consolidate buffs when you are in a group (and possibly only in a dungeon or raid). There will also be an option to turn off the feature completely. For now, we just wanted to get more feedback on it.
